Frequently Asked Questions

COVID-19 FAQ

  • Why has Prom 2021 been scheduled for August and December?

Though widespread COVID-19 testing and the province’s vaccine roll-out plan is well underway, it’s impossible to predict when large public gatherings will be deemed safe by local and provincial health officials. As such, while the plan is to have Prom in August, we have a confirmed backup date in December should safety protocols make such a delay necessary.

  • Are tickets refundable if an August event can’t happen?

Unfortunately, no. Due to high increase in demand for event space, services, and suppliers, deposits are required and can only be transferred to a later date for another event. We recommend that graduates only buy a Prom ticket if they are relatively sure they will be available to attend in either August or December.

  • What happens if I can’t attend in December?

Again, unfortunately, tickets are only refundable (minus processing and service fees) if the August event is deferred to December and the December event is ultimately cancelled.

  • What is the refund policy?

Refunds are not normally issued. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, we will issue a refund, subject to the non-refundable service fee, in the event your event cannot be postponed and is cancelled due to restrictions relating to COVID-19, imposed by a governmental authority having jurisdiction. If your event is postponed, no refund will be issued. However, partial or full refunds (subject to the non-refundable service fee), may be considered in circumstances outside of the participant’s control, when supported by a written request which includes supporting documentation, such as the participant having moved outside of the event region.

Service charges on PromNight.ca ticket purchases cover a combination of non-refundable fees inherent to such transactions. These include:

    • The fees banks charge us to process your credit card payments. We do our best to keep these charges as low as possible — and lower than most similar charges you’d encounter with ticketing services such as Ticketmaster.
    • Ancillary ticket processing fees.
    • Non-refundable booking deposits and associated administrative fees.
    • Additionally, the advent of the COVID-19 pandemic has necessitated the implementation of additional safely protocols that, though costly to execute, are essential for everyone’s well-being.

Approved refunds will be made to the participant’s original purchase method.

  • Is there an After Prom?

Due to ongoing safety concerns and protocols during the pandemic, it is unlikely we will be able to host After Prom as we normally would. However, The Prom Dinner & Dance will be the best possible experience that is safe, secure, and full of great memories as you transcend one chapter and begin another.
